Accessibility

This page describes accessibility information for the Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust website.

If you have any questions or comments, please contact us.

Standards Compliance

All our pages are WCAG A compliant, meeting all priority one guidelines. We also meet most of the priority two and three guidelines. Our pages validate as HTML 4.01 Transitional.

We regularly test our site against the Mark-up Validation Service http://validator.w3.org and the CSS Validation Service http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator

Navigation Aids

All pages include a 'breadcrumb trail' at the top of the page, showing exactly where you are in the site's hierarchical navigation.
There is a search box displayed near the top of every page.

Links

Links are written to make sense out of context. Many links have a title attribute which describes the link in greater detail. A home link is present on every page with other useful links placed in the header and supported with title tags.

Visual design

Cascading style sheets are used for visual layout.
This site uses relative font sizes, compatible with the user-specified "text size" option in most browsers. The content of all pages is accessible using browsers which do not support style sheets at all, or when support for style sheets has been disabled.

Some web browsers (particularly older browsers) do not correctly display cascading style sheets, and the layout may appear corrupted. If you find this is the case, you will be able to access all content by disabling style sheet support in your browser.
