Every year we receive donations from local people for the benefit of staff and patients. These gifts make a real difference, by improving the care we provide, by recognising the dedication of our hard working staff and by making life a little brighter for both patients and staff.
Although we receive NHS funding, there are many extras which the budget cannot provide, such as additional specialist equipment, nursing aids or general amenities to improve the patient environment. This is where the Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trusts Hospitals Charity comes in, by providing the things which our hospitals could not otherwise afford. Donations can be made in support of Stafford or Cannock Hospitals or specific Wards or Departments.
How can I support the Charity?
Make a donation by cheque,credit/debit card or cash. Donations by cheque (payable to Mid Staffs Hospitals Charity) or cash can be made direct to a ward or department, or to the Hospital Cashier, where a receipt will be issued. Donations by credit/debit card can be made either in person or by telephone to 01785 230513.
Cheques can be posted to:

If a friend or relative has died recently, you may wish to nominate the Charity to receive donations in lieu of flowers. By remembering the Charity in your Will, you can make a valuable contribution. Please contact our Financial Controller on 01785 257731 for more information.
If when giving a donation, you can let us know if you are a UK tax payer, this enables us to claim an extra 28p for every pound donated in tax relief.
Who decides how the money is spent?
Medical and Nursing staff at both hospitals decide how donations are spent, according to the wishes of the donors and the needs of the patients. Overseeing this is a Board of Trustees, which ensures the appropriate and effective use of the funds.
